PEG Developers Toolkit FAQ

FontCapture Questions

What is PEG Development Toolkit ?

Designed for PEG+ versions 1.x and also used with C/PEG, the PEG Development Toolkit is everything needed to prototype GUI designs on a hosted platform. The PEG Development Toolkit includes the PEG development tools PEG WindowBuilder™, FontCapture, and ImageConvert. The PDK also includes pre-built libraries for the chosen host enviroment. Note that PEG versions 2.x do not use the PDK, since FontCapture and ImageConvert have been integrated into the WindowBuilder package as the the Resource Manager.

What hosts are supported with PEG Development Toolkit?

Supported hosts include MS Windows (98, 2000, NT, XP, ME, Vista), Linux/X11, Solaris, and NetBSD/X11.

What fonts come with PEG, and how can I make more?

PEG is delivered with two fonts, Menu Font and System Font. You can use the FontCapture utility that comes with PEG to produce any number of additional fonts.

Can I use FontCapture to capture any Windows font?

We would NOT recommend that you capture and use a copyrighted Windows font unless you first contact the font manufacturer and obtain permission to use the font in this manner.

Do you know where I can find additional fonts to use in my product?

For a list of free and commercial font sources see Fonts Links.
