13 November 2002-- Swell Software, Inc., a world leader in providing innovative GUI solutions for embedded systems, has today announced the release of PRESS (PEG REmote Screen Server), the multi-process, network aware extended architecture for their flagship PEG (Portable Embedded GUI) product. The new execution methodology, which will allow for several discrete application processes to interact with the GUI, gives unparalleled flexibility and power to embedded GUI application developers.
"It's a whole new application paradigm for our users", stated Jim DeLisle, VP/CTO of Swell Software. "We are allowing our customers to design applications that are not only portable across operating systems, but also across platforms and networks. A PRESS application is able to seamlessly interact with the user no matter where the user resides, or what type of device they are using to access the application."
PRESS is available right now for Linux, LynxOS and Solaris; Windows version (for use as application servers) is coming soon.
